More than just a race....
More than just a race, the Eyam Half Marathon is a true community celebration. Established in 1993, this much-loved event has been running for over 30 years, raising vital funds for cancer charities and local causes along the way.
Entirely volunteer-led, the race is a testament to the incredible spirit of Eyam, with over 10% of the village turning out to help each year. From marshals cheering at every corner to homemade cakes at the finish, the atmosphere is famously warm, welcoming, and unforgettable.
But don’t be fooled by the charm—this is a course that demands respect. Set in the heart of the stunning Peak District, the route is known for its breathtaking views and notoriously tough hills, offering a true challenge for runners of all levels.
Whether you're chasing a PB or simply soaking in the scenery, Eyam offers a race day experience unlike any other.

Giving Back, Together
The Eyam Half Marathon is proudly organised by a dedicated team of local volunteers, with every penny raised going to good causes. Since it began, the event has raised over £190,000 for cancer charities and village projects.
Local community groups in Eyam, Abney, and Bretton are welcome to apply for funding through this application form. On top of that, countless runners have used the race as a platform to raise thousands more for charities close to their hearts.
Yes, the course is a challenge—but it’s also known as one of the friendliest races around. That spirit comes from the people: our volunteers, supporters, and everyone who pitches in with their time, talent, and enthusiasm to make Eyam Half Marathon the special event it is year after year.
